Adi Badri is noted for the remains of 16 small temples, found on the way to Ranikhet from Karnaprayag. Seven of these temples belong to the late Gupta period. It is believed that Adi Guru Shankaracharya had initiated the construction of these temples. The main temple of Narayan is distinguished by a raised platform in the pyramidal form, where the black stone idol of lord Vishnu is enshrined.

To get there the nearest airport is Jolly Grant, 209 km from Rishikesh and the nearest railway station is Rishikesh railway station at a distance of 192 km.

By road, Adi Badri can be approached from Kamaprayag, 19 km, which is connected with Ranikhet, Nainital and Ramnagar.

Accommodation can be arranged at Kamaprayag.
