Abiramam

Abiramam is a small town situated 11 km north-east of Kamudi, in Ramanathapuram District. It is located near the banks of Gunnar, about 19 km south-west of Paramakudi and 15 km from Mudukulattur. Madurai is 64 km north-west.

Gulf of Mannar Marine Biosphere Reserve, Kurusadai Islands, Pamban Bridge, Dhanushkodi, Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary and Pazhamuthircholai constitute interesting excursions outside Abiramam.

Nearest airport is at Madurai. Paramakudi Railway Station serves Abiramam.
