Kamarpukur




Kamarpukur, situated in Hooghly District of West Bengal, is the birth place of the great saint - Sri Ramakrishna. Sri Ramakrishna Math was established here on the site of Sri Ramakrishna's original home. There are a number of ponds, tanks and old buildings, and remains of temples. Other attractions are Ancestral Home of Sri Ramakrishna, Raghubir Temple, Yogis' Siva Temple, Haldar-Pukur, Temple of Gopeswar Siva, Sitanath Pyne's House, Dhani Kamarini's birth-place and Temple, Chinu Shankhari's birth-place, Mukundapur Siva Temple, and Manik Raja's Mango Grove.

Kamarpukur is 45 km from Tarakeshwar. It is accessible by road from Kolkata. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport is the nearest airport.
