Saptagram

Saptagram is a famous village in Hooghly District. It is said that Ibn Batuta entered Bengal through this village. During that time, it was a great port. The village has a strong influence of Vaishnavism and it was here that the Vaishnava apostle Nityananda preached his philosophy.

There are many mosques and madrasas, which clearly display the Hindu impact. The walls of these shrines are inscribed with the relics of the puja of Lord Vishnu and Lord Surya.
