Samsing




Samsing is a picturesque tourist spot in Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal. Situated at an altitude of 3000 ft above sea level, it is the gateway to the remote parts of Neora Valley National Park. Samsing is just 4 km from Suntalekhola and 82 km from Siliguri via Chalsa.

Samsing is a heaven for bird watchers. Major bird species found here include Grey Nightjar, Orange-bellied Leafbird, Maroon Oriole, Grey chinned and Short-billed Minivets, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, Slaty-backed Forktail, Sultan Tit and Ashy Bulbul.

The place is also an ideal place for trekkers. Trekking to 'Tree Fern Point' and 'Mo' offers magnificent views of the Himalayas on one side and the plains of Dooars in the other. The most fascinating and thrilling trek leads to the untouched wilderness of Neora Valley National Park.

Samsing can be visited at anytime except during monsoons.
