Narayanpur




Narayanpur is a village in Pune District of Maharashtra. Also known as the village of Sant Changdev, Narayanpur is famous for the Datta Temple. The three beautiful sculptures in this temple are thought to be thousands of years old, dating back to the Yadav era. Throngs of pilgrims flock to this temple during the festival season. The ancient Audumbar tree and Narayaneshwar Temple are other holy sites on these premises.

Narayanpur is situated in Purandar valley in the Western Ghats, near the historic Purandar Fort. The place is approachable either from Dive Ghat and Saswad or from Katraj Ghat and Satara Road. There are regular buses from Saswad. The road to Narayanpur is rugged and is a favorite retreat of nature enthusiasts.
