Nalhati




Nalhati is a town situated in Birbhum District, about 228 km from Kolkata. This town is at a distance of 91 km from Shantiniketan and 75 km from Bolpur. There is a temple of Nalateswari, one of the Sati pithas, which lies on the top of a small hillock near the Nalhati railway station. Close to this temple is a tomb of Ana Pir Sahib, a Muslim saint. There also lies Udhuanala's field, where people of Bengal fought against the British.
