A small settlement, Mayapur is in the Latehar District of Jharkhand. It is situated at the district border and is noted for its scenic beauty and calm atmosphere. Tourist attractions such as Mirchaiya Waterfalls, Betla National Park and the hot water spring, Tataha Pani, are easily accessible from here.

Netarhat, Bardauni, Chatakpur, Adheo and Katam are the towns and villages nearby. The other places of tourist interest around the village include Upper and Lower Ghagri Waterfalls, Sandhi Falls, Lodh Fall, Sadani Fall, Magnolia Point and Koel View Point.

Mayapur can be accessed by local buses and taxies from Garu and Mahuadanr. Latehar Railway Station and Barwadih Junction Railway Station are the nearest major railway stations. Ranchi airport serves this area.
