Mahishadal Rajbari Estate




Mahishadal Rajbari Estate at Haldia is a large estate having heritage buildings and temple spread out on a vast stretch of land. In the estate there are two palaces built in two different periods. The old palace was built around 1840 AD. The famous Goplajew Temple is in the courtyard. At present nobody resides in this palace.

The new palace was built in the year 1937. A good collection of stuffed animals, paintings and furniture are held in the ground floor rooms. These can be viewed on request. At present the family members are residing at this new palace.

Kharagpur is the nearest railway station.
