Rabindra Bharati University, established in 1962, is located in
Kolkata. This State University offers courses in the faculties of arts, fine arts and visual arts and economics.
An integral part of the university, the West Bengal State Akademi of Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts, promotes study, training, research and extension of various branches of performing and visual arts including folk art and culture in Bengal. The University Museum, called Rabindra Bharati Museum, is a store house of original paintings, photographs and other valuable documents.
