ISKCON Temple

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Parthasarathy Temple was built on the Hari Krishna Hillock facing East of Kailash area of Delhi in 1998. The temple follows the ancient Vaishnava tradition. ISKON was founded by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The temple, an impressive building complex, is a landmark of South Delhi. The main attraction is a sound and light show wherein robots enact the ancient Hindu epic, The Mahabharata. The hall of the temple which can accommodate about 1,500 people is centrally air-conditioned. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Janamashtami is the main festival celebrated in the temple. The temple is beautifully maintained and in the morning there are special devotional programs such as kirtan, aarti, and pravachan. The ISKCON Temple is fast becoming a tourist attraction.
