Lava




Lava is located 32 km from Kalimpong at a height of 2350 m. Surrounded by dense forests of oak and fir trees, Lava is the gateway to the Neora National Park. A panoramic view of the Eastern Himalayan Ranges and the Jelepla and Rechila passes will attract the visitors.

The places of interest are Lava Monastery, Neora Lake, Chhangey falls, Loleygaon, Rissium, Batasia Loop, Tiger Hill, and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.

Ethnic products of the hill people such as knitted garments, carpets, tankhas, stone studded metal curios and masks are available.

The nearest railhead is New Jalpaiguri. Civil Enclave Bagdogra is 80 km from here.
