Jalpesh Shiva Temple




The Jalpesh Shiva Temple is merely three kilometers away from Mainaguri and 15 km from Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it was built by King Jalpesh of Pragjyotishpur in Assam in 1665. The temple was built in a style akin to Islamic architecture. Inside, there is a Shivling called Anadi. Mahashivaratri is the main festival celebrated in this temple. The nearest railhead is New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway Station.
