Bindu




Bindu is a small village in the {Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal. Situated at an altitude of 700 m, it lies on the India-Bhutan border. The village is famous for its cardamom plantation. Bindu is around 108 km from Siliguri.

Bindu is coming up as a popular offbeat tourist destination in the Himalayan foothills of Dooars. The place is ideally situated among the high mountains all around with Jaldhaka River flowing through the valley.

Bindu Dam, built on the Jaldhaka River, is the major point of attraction. The place is also a favorite spot for bird watching. Major bird species found here include Eurasian Wryneck, Crested Kingfisher, Brown Dipper, Slaty-backed Forktail, Little Forktail and Laughing Thrush.

Bindu offers magnificent views of Bhutan Himalayas and the snow peak mountains in the winters.

Godak village is about 15 km from Bindu and Todey is just an hour drive from Bindu.
