Kherur Mosque




Kherur Mosque is located on the top of a mound at Kherur in Sagardighi, about 30 km from the north-west of Berhampore. This 15th century mosque covers an area of two acres. It was built by Rafat Khan during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah. This rectangular shaped mosque consists of a single domed prayer chamber and a triple domed corridor with four minarets at four corners. There are three arched openings on the eastern, northern and southern sides of the mosque.
