Dhaniakhali is a taluk headquarters town of West Bengal’s Hooghly District. It is situated about 8 km south-west of Bhastara and 60 km from Kolkata. The nearest towns include Saniaspur, 2 km to the west; Kanajol, 4 km to the east and Bhandarhati, 5 km to the south.

The place is also famous for its Dhaniakhali sarees and dhotis. The handloom sarees of Dhaniakhali are found in various markets and shops spread around Kolkata.

A group of four temples situated at the eastern side of Guptipara, Brindabanchandra Temple, Chaitanyadev Temple, Krishna Chandra Temple and Ramachandra Temple are sacred spots one can visit.

Bandel Church, Tarakeshwar Temple, Nandadulal Mandir, Chandannagar and Arambagh are the other attractions around the town.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport serves Dhaniakhali. Chinsurah Railway Station and Kamarkundu Railway Station are the nearest railway stations.
