Achipur

Achipur is a small village on the banks of Hooghly River and is about 25 km from Kolkata.

The name 'Achipur' is believed to be have been given by Tong Achew, a Chinese business man who had lived here. A Chinese temple, built by him, is the major attraction of the place. A horseshoe-shaped tomb of Achew is also seen in the temple complex.
