River Mandal

River Mandal is an important tributary of Ramganga, originating from the eastern heights of Talla Salan in Chamoli district. Mandal flows for 32 kilometers, before joining Ramganga at Domunda. A slim trail in the summer months, the river turns into a violent torrent during monsoon. Mandal is also a vital breeding ground for the endangered Mahseer fish.
