River Mandal is an important tributary of
Ramganga, originating from the eastern heights of Talla Salan in
Chamoli district. Mandal flows for 32 kilometers, before joining Ramganga at Domunda. A slim trail in the summer months, the river turns into a violent torrent during monsoon. Mandal is also a vital breeding ground for the endangered Mahseer fish.
