Pandava Nritya

Pandava Nritya is a folk dance of Uttaranchal. It depicts scenes related to the Pandavas, who are the main characters in the Mahabharata. This dance is predominantly performed in the villages of Chamoli and Pauri Garhwal districts, the regions believed to be closely associated with the epic.

Pandava Nritya is usually performed during the auspicious festivals of Dussehra and Diwali. This dance involves men, who dance around a fire.

The artists enact various scenes related to the Pandavas. While some artists do the acting, other artists sing the praise of the legendary heroes and simultaneously produce music by beating on drums like the Dhol and the Daman.
