Litchi




Litchi can be grown on a variety of soil textures, which range from sandy to clayey loams containing large quantities of lime. It is a common horticulture crop in northern Bihar, Punjab and the submontane districts of western Uttar Pradesh.

Improved varieties include China, Purbi, Deshi, Bedana and Kalkatia. Propagation is by air layering, inarching, budding and grafting.
