Chaukori




Chaukori is a picturesque and charming town located 112 km from Pithoragarh, in Uttaranchal. Perched at an altitude of 2010 m above the sea level, one gets the feeling that the stunning views of the Himalayas in the background is within an arm’s reach. The place is also famous for its magnificent sunset views. Other places worth visiting in and around the town include Berinaag, Gangolihaat (35 km), Pataal Bhuvaneshwar (49 km) and Dharamghar.

This scenic town, marked for its unsurpassable beauty, can be reached by road from all major city centers in the state. Regular bus services connect Chaukori with Almora (125 km), Nainital (183 km), Bageshwar (45 km) and Pithoragarh. The nearest airport is Naini Saini (Pithoragarh) while the closest railway station is at Tanakpur.
