Deolidanda is a popular picnic spot 3 km from
Almora in
Uttaranchal. A towering hill covered in pine forests, Deolidanda offers an excellent view of the Sual River Valley and the Himalayas. There is a Devi (Goddess) temple on the hill. A nearby attraction is the Vivekananda Shila (rock), located downhill. It marks the spot where a respected monk, Swami Vivekananda, rested while approaching Almora on foot.
