Char Dham

Situated amidst the majestic hills of the Himalayas, in the Garhwal region, north of Rishikesh, are four of the holiest pilgrim destinations of India, known collectively as Char Dham. Char Dham, referred to in ancient Hindu scriptures as 'Kedarkhand,'comprises four holy shrines-Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

At a height of 3000 m above sea level, and set in a gorgeous landscape, Char Dham also offers a quiet retreat from the bustle of the city. The legendary holiness of this region as well as the numerous trekking opportunities attract thousands of pilgrims to Char Dham every year.

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant, 18 km from Rishikesh. Rishikesh is also well-connected by road and rail.
