Changabang Peak




Located in the northernmost part of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary, Changabang is a granite peak of the Garwhal range. It is situated at an altitude of 6866 m in the mountain ranges of the Himalayas. The peak is approached either by the rugged Rishi Ganga Gorge or from Lata, via Dharansi Pass. Chris Bonington along with the Indo-British team were the first to climb Changabang Peak in 1974.

Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the nearest airstrip. The closest railhead is at Rishikesh.
