Anashakti Ashram, run by Uttar Pradesh Gandhi Smarak Trust, is a rest house placed in Kausani, a hill station north of Almora District (51 km). It was the place where Gandhiji, inspired by the beauty of the place, stayed for 12 days in 1929, and wrote Geeta-Anashakti-Yoga.
Though the Ashram has been converted into a study and research center, it has 24 rooms for accommodation. A library attached is a specialty. Kitchen facility is provided. The closest airport is Pant Nagar airport, 178 km away. Kathgodam Railway Station, at 142 km, is the nearest railhead.
