Pakora

Indian Vegetable Fritters

Pakora or Bhajya (also, Pokora or Pakoda) is a common Indian snack. Many vegetables such as sliced onions, potatoes, eggplant, cauliflower or chopped spinach or chilies can be dipped in the basic batter and deep fried into mouth watering pakoras. The batter is made from besan flour (ground chickpeas). This is eaten hot with Pav or unsweetened bun. This is a cheap and tasty food easily available throughout India.
