Amber

Crowned on a rocky hill behind the Maota Lake, Amber is about 11 km north of Jaipur. It had been the capital of the Kuchwaha Rajputs from 1037 until 1728. It is a place fortified with natural hills, high rampart, and a succession of gates. The Amber village is dotted with fascinating temples and ruins. Since the place holds complexes of palaces and forts, it is worth a visit.
