Varanasi Ramlila




Varanasi Ramlila is an important Ramlila festival celebrated in Varanasi, one of the most sacred Hindu cities in India. Ramlila is the enactment of the story of Lord Ram, which is presented as a cycle-play days.

This festival is held in the month of October/November. It evokes a festive atmosphere and allows observance of religious rites. During this festival, Jhankis and pageants depicting scenes from the life of Lord Ram are taken out.

Some of the episodes of the festival, including Bharat-Milap Lila of Nati-Emli and the Nakkataiya of Chetganj, are witnessed with great interest.
