Rapri

Rapri is a medieval town located in the southern portion of Firozabad District close to Agra District border. The past of Rapri is rich. Rao Zorawar Sen, also known as Rapar Sen, is the founder of this town, whose descendants fell in battle against Mohammad Gori in 1194. Mosques, tombs, wells and several inscriptions found among the ruins reflect its glorious past. Dargah of Pir Faddu, Jami Masjid and Idgah, built on the sites of demolished temples, are some of the prominent historical monuments here. The district headquarters, Firozabad, known as the glass capital of India, is 30 km north-west of Rapri. Bateshwar, a historic town famous for its ancient temples and Bateshwar Fair, is just 7 km away. Other places nearby Rapri are Bah and Bhadan. The nearest access points, Bhadan Railway Station and Agra Civil Enclaves are 17 km and 70 km from Rapri.
