Sikandra Rao



Founded in the 15th century by Sikandar Lodi in Hathras District, Sikandra Rao is a prominent town of both historical and political importance. The remains of a fort and other historical sites reflect its historical importance. The town is also associated with Ghaus Mohammad Khan, one of the key figures in the First War of Indian Independence (1857). Sikandra Rao, about 41 km south-east of Aligarh and 35 km east of Hathras, is on the Grand Trunk Road. Sikandra Rao Railway Station is on Mathura- Kasganj-Bareilly rail route. Nearest airport is Agra Civil Enclaves.
