Rampur




Situated in Rampur District of Uttar Pradesh, Rampur was formerly the capital of the erstwhile Rohilla state and is 30 km east of Moradabad.

The central government controlled manuscript library, Rampur Raza Library housed in the Rampur Fort is the prime attraction. The Rampur gharana (style or school) of classical music is one of the major gharanas of India. Textiles and manufacture of agricultural implements, wine making and sugar processing are the major activities of the town. Rampur is also the site of Raza College.

Nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport. Rampur Railway Station is on the Moradabad- Bareilly line. National Highway 24 passes through Rampur and National Highway 87 originates at Rampur.
