The town of Patiali, situated in Etah District, is famous as the birthplace of the man of versatile genius, Amir Khusro, who was a renowned 13th century Sufi poet, historian, courtier, saint and master of music. He served as a nobleman in the courts of Muizuddin Kaiqbad, Jalal-ud-din Khilji, Allauddin Khilji, Qutbuddin Mubarak Shah and Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq.

Patiali is well connected by road with nearby towns of Ganj Dundwara, Kadirganj, Sidhpura and Dhumri. Ganj Dundwara Railway Station and Agra Civil Enclaves are the nearest access points.
