Etah




The administrative headquarters of Etah District, Etah is a beautiful town situated 42 km north-east of Agra, in western Uttar Pradesh.

Etah is a major center for agricultural trade in the district. The fertile plains between the Ganges and the area to the south-west are used for extensive cultivation; wheat, cotton and sugarcane form the major crops. The Upper and Lower Ganges canals irrigate the area.

Places of tourist interest include Soron and Patna Bird Sanctuary.

Nearest airport is at Agra. Etah Railway Station is a main railhead of the district and connects it with Agra, Mathura and other nearby towns.
