Jyotiba Phule Nagar District

Jyotiba Phule Nagar District of Uttar Pradesh was earlier part of Moradabad District. It was given its name in memory of a famous social reformer Sant Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. The district is bounded by the Bijnor District in the north, Moradabad District in the east, and Meerut District, Ghaziabad District, and Bulandshahr District in the west. The population is over 1.5 million, scattered over an area of 2,470 sq km.

The Ganges, Baha, and Krishna are the important rivers. People depend mostly on agriculture as their main occupation. Cottage industries, handloom works, and cloth weaving are also here.

Amroha, Vasudev Mandir and Tulsi Park, Bayen ka kuan, Nasiruddin Sahib ki Majaar, Dargah Bhure Shah, Majaar Shah Vilayat Sahib, Gajraula, and Tigri are major tourist destinations.
