Pharenda




Pharenda, also called as Anandnagar and Rudrapur, is a small town in Maharajganj District of Uttar Pradesh and is located 45 km north of Gorakhpur. It is situated on the State Highway and is around 45 km from Indo-Nepal international border.

Pharenda derives its name after the Pharenda or jamun (Eugenia Jambolona) trees which are seen in plenty in this region.

Maharajganj is around 25 km east. Varanasi Airport and Amausi Airport serves Pharenda. Pharenda Junction Railway Station (Anandnagar Junction Railway Station) is linked to Gorakhpur by a meter gauge line of North Eastern Railways.
