Frog Temple

Frog Temple is situated at Oyal town, which is 12 km from Lakhimpur, on the Lakhimpur to Sitapur route. Built in 1870, it is the one of its kind in India and was put up by the former Maharajas of the Oyal state.

This stone temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and a highlight is that the base of it is built in the shape of a frog. It is raised between octahedral lotuses, and the frog faces towards north. There are two gates, of which the main gate opens in the east and other in the south.
