Lalitpur District




Lalitpur District in Uttar Pradesh came into existence in the year 1974. It is bounded by Jhansi District in the north, Sagar District in the south, Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur districts of Madhya Pradesh in the east, and Shivpuri and Guna in the west. The geographical area is 5,039 sq km and population is close to a million.

The Betwa, Dhasan, and Jamni are the major rivers. The climate is sub-tropical with hot dry summers and cold winters. Deogarh, Neelkantheshwar Trimurti (Pali), Ranchourji, Andela, Matatila Dam, Seeronkhurd, Dudhai, Dewa Mata, BandarGurha are some of the important places to visit.
