Bithur




Bithur is a charming little town situated 20 km west of Kanpur on the banks of holy Ganges. This holy and historical place is of religious significance and is associated with ancient mythology. According to the Hindu mythology, Bithur was known as Brahmateerth where Rishi Valmiki had composed the great epic Ramayana.

Major tourist attractions in and around the town include Valmiki Ashram, Brahmavart Ghat, Patthar Ghat and DhruvaTeela.
