Khair




Khair is one of the prominent towns in Aligarh District and is the taluk headquarters. It lies 28 km west of Aligarh. Gonmat, Fatehpur and Chandaus are the immediate neighboring towns.

In Khair taluk, there is a small town Tappal which has some monuments of historical importance. Among these, a monument near the old fort and a tomb of Thomson Simpson are under the purview of the Directorate of Archeology, Uttar Pradesh.

Located at the intersection of several roads, Khair is well connected with the rest of the district. Khair Bus Station serves the town. The nearest railway station, Somna Railway Station is about 15 km, on the Delhi-Kolkata railway line. Agra Civil Enclaves is 90 km away.
