Miranpur Katra




Miranpur Katra is an important historical town in Shahjahanpur District. The town witnessed the Battle of Miranpur Katra on 23rd April, 1774, in which Nawab Shuja-ud-daula, with the help of Warren Hastings of East India Company, defeated Hafiz Rahmat Khan, the Rohilla Chief.

Miranpur Katra, on the Lucknow-Delhi National Highway 24, is well connected by road and rail. It is about 11 km from Tilhar and 34 km from Shahjahanpur. Miranpur Katra Railway Station is on the Shahjahanpur-Bareilly rail route. Nearest airport is Amausi Airport.
