Situated at an altitude of 2286 m on the Kumaon Hills, Mukteshwar commands a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. Mukteshwar is around 350 km from Delhi.

Mukteshwar is a hill station nestled amidst fruit orchards and thick coniferous forest. The region is famous for the Indian Veterinary Research Institute campus established in 1893. This little town of red-roofs, wooden window frames and picket fences brings back the memories of British Raj.

Mukteshwar Temple and Chauli ka Jali are the major attractions.

Nearest airport is at Pant nagar. Nearest rail station is at Kathgodam, a 2-hour drive from Mukteshwar.
