Baghpat District




The district of Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh has an area of 1,345 sq km. It is bounded by Muzaffarnagar District in the north, Ghaziabad District in the south, and the Yamuna and Rohtak District of Haryana in the west. The population is over 1.1 million. Its headquarters is Baghpat town.

Wheat, paddy, sugarcane, pulses, potatoes and maize are the important crops. Dussehra, holi, diwali, kartik poornima, raksha bandhan, and navratri are the main festivals celebrated.

Pura Mahadev Temple, Valmiki Ashram, Lakshagrah, Saccha Sauda, Chandraprabhu Digamber Jain Atishya Kshetra, Chaprauli Jain Temple, and Badagao Jain Temple are the major tourist attractions.
