Baghein River

Baghein River, the second important river of Banda District, originates from a hill near Kohari of Panna District. The main tributary of Baghein is the Ranj which merges with it at Gurha Kalan (Naraini tahsil), but further east, there are several smaller tributaries from the south namely the Madrar, the Barar, the Karehi, the Banganga and the Barua, each of which in turn has tributaries of their own.

Baghein River on its long journey towards the north-east separates Banda from the newly created Chitrakut District forming boundaries between Atarra, Baberu and Karrwi Taluks. The river continues its way to Bilas village where it merges with the Yamuna River.
