Varanasi Junction Railway Station




Also known as Varanasi Cantonment Station, Varanasi Junction Railway Station is one of the main depots in Uttar Pradesh. It is situated at the city center in the cantonment area and is served by the Northern Railways. New Delhi-Varanasi Express, Kashi Vishwanath Express, Varuna Express, Mahanagari Express and Amritsar-Howrah Express pass through Varanasi. Traveling north-east, Ghazipur (69 km) is the major railhead.

Computerized reservation facility is provided. Indrail pass is available. A tourist information cell works on the premises. Interactive Voice Response System service can be availed.

Just 1 km from the station are Taj Ganges and Hotel Best Western Kashika that offer spacious accommodation facilities. The Central Bus Station, run by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, is on Sher Shah Suri Marg, in the cantonment area. Close by the railway station, there is a private bus stand that connects the city with nearby places. Nearest airfield is Varanasi Babatpur Airport, 25 km from the city.
