Alamgir Darwaza

Alam Darwaza, also called Alamgir Darwaza, is the principal entrance of the Kalinjar Fort in Kalinjar, a fortress city in Banda District of Uttar Pradesh. It is on the northern side of the fort towards the town.

This gate is square, lofty and plain in construction, and was supposed to be reconstructed at the date of the inscription above it. Alam Darwaza is guarded by seven different gates and they are approached by a short flight of stone steps.

Kalinjar is about 62 km from Banda and 78 km from Chitrakut. The nearest railhead is Atarra Railway Station on the Banda-Satna route, 36 km away.
