Kalavai, also known as Kalaval, is a small town in Vellore District of Tamil Nadu. About 45 km from Kanchipuram, this town is known for the Sankara Mutt, which lies close to the bus stand. The Mutt (spiritual center) runs an old-age home and a home for the physically handicapped near the premises.
Kalavai can be reached from Vellore (43 km), Arani (22 km), Arcot (20 km) and Ranipet (23 km).
