Villianur




Villianur, spread over an area of 65 sq km, is a town in Pondicherry District. It is 10 km west of Pondicherry town, on the Pondicherry – Villupuram Road.

Sri Gokilambal Temple, famous for its exquisite architecture, forms the major attraction. A major draw is a festival named Brahmotsavam held at this temple. St Lourde's Church, Varadaraja Perumal Temple, Swami Ram Paradesi Temple and Ezhai Mariamman Temple are the other landmarks.

Virampattinam is 7 km east and Bahur is 11 km south of Villianur. Other nearby towns are Purnankuppam (9 km east), Vanur (15 km north) and Valavanur (18 km west).

Villianur Railway Station serves Villianur. The nearest airport is Chennai International Airport.
