Vadivazhagiya Nambi Temple, also known as Anbil Temple, is one of the 108 Divya Desams, in Tamil Nadu. It is located at Anbil about 10 km from Lalgudi, near Tiruchirapalli. The temple lies on the northern bank of the Kollidam River. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, known here as Vadivazhagiya Nambi, and Goddess Azhagiyavalli.
Spread in an area of about an acre, the temple has a three tiered Rajagopuram. The sanctum with one prakaram faces east. There are inscriptions which reveal the works of Sundara Cholan - the imperial Chola monarch.
Vadivazhagiya Nambi Temple is referred to by a paasuram of Shri Thirumazhisai Alwar where he addresses seven shrines of Lord Vishnu in a reclining position - Tirukkudandai, Tiruvegkaa, Tiruvallur, Tiruvarangam, Tiruppernagar, Anbil and Tirupparkadal.
Lalgudi Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
