Vadapalani Vinayagar Temple




Vadapalani Vinayagar Temple is a highly revered shrine located at Vadapalani, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The presiding deity here is Lord Ganesh enshrined in a sitting posture, with the Mushika (mouse – the vehicle of the Lord) image outside and opposite the garbha griha. Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Muruga, Lord Shiva, Meenakshi, Valli Devasena, Chandikeswar and Bhairava are also worshipped here.

Vinayaka Chaturthi, celebrated with much pomp and splendor, is a major draw.

Chennai Central Railway Station and Chennai Egmore Railway Station are the nearest railheads. The place can be reached by bus from Vadapalani Bus Station.
