Gangavalli

Located in the south-eastern region of Salem District, about 57 km from Salem, Gangavalli is a taluk headquarters. Thammampatti and Malliyakarai lie to the west, Attur to the north, Naduvalur and Viraganur to the east and Arumbavur to the south.

Attur Fort is nearby. The tourist center of Aragalur is accessible from this town.

Sweta River, a tributary of the Vellaru, has its course through Gangavalli.

Nearest airports are Salem Airport (70 km west) and Tiruchirapalli Airport (80 km south). Nearest rail access point is Attur Railway Station.
